THE THANG

While Swingline, Twilight and Sleepy completed a nice ruck, and since no-one jumped at the chance to be QIC, yours truly (Honeysuckle) took the reigns and led the PAX on some organized chaos.  Since the plan was being formulated on the run, the PAX unbeknownst chose their own activities with every turn.  Since the Indian Run kept to the left, what better way to start the morning than a 3/4 sprint downhill and back up the slow hills on Guaranda.  After 4 rounds of up and down madness, circling to mosey in with the 6 each time, the PAX looked tired.  Reform the Indian Run and make way around Freedom Hall.  Rite-Aid was begging to stop on the long steep hill behind Freedom Hall on Pactolas so the PAX obliged.  An impromptu Rite-Aid beat-down ensued which resulted in 2 trips to the top of the hill.  1 PAX was lost due to injury, 1 I’m still not sure what happened and multiple almost spilled merlot.  Recovery was an Indian Run back to the track, just in time for 2 – 100 yd sprints before time was called.  Distance 4.0-4.2 miles.

Just a reminder of how easy it is to forget about humility.  ‘ For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.’ Psalms 51:16-17 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/PSA.51.16-17.  Just a reminder that we are called to be humble.  It is easy to find someone that we can build ourselves up by looking down on.  God’s word though tells us that when we do that, He will humble us. ‘Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, “When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him, and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” ‘ Luke 14:7-11 https://www.bible.com/bible/59/LUK.14.7-11.
