Northeast Tennessee

No time like Snow Time

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

Weather: clear, cold (18*) with about six inches of snow and ice.

We started the workout under cover to avoid icy surfaces (parking lot, packed sidewalks and track). The most strenuous part of the work out – sliding and falling across the parking lot. Normally nimble, I was the only one to fall hard.

MOLESKIN
Crunch, crunch, crunch…the sound of feet pounding on crusty snow banks and over sidewalks under a star gazers dream in the early morning. Those sounds were all we could hear during the morning mosey. It was a pleasant sound and time to be active with F3 brothers.

The ice and snow reminded me of how each of us are called to break down boundaries to progress as men. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they walk, and not faint. Our barriers and challenges are different, yet we are bonded by the common desire to be more than we once were. In alignment, one of my favorite phrases from Big Fish is a man must “…fight the dragons, storm the castles, and win a battle or two…”.

“I am my best when not at rest.” This morning was no different for the four of us.
