A variety of coupons were gathered and carried to the track below the parking lot.

Quarter Mile Carry

PAX were presented options of 2 – 50 # sandbags, a 75 # Homemade sandbag with no handles (AKA the Blue Blob), 2 – 30# dumbells, 1 – 50# block of iron with an inset handle.  Instructed to pick up one of the items or both dumbells and circle the 1/4 mile track as fast as possible. Upon return do 10 burpees and hold plank waiting on the 6.  This was repeated 5 more times with a different item.  a different exercise was done after each lap and holding plank for the six.  20 Mercs, 30 Jump Squats, 40 BBSU, 50 Deep Squats, 60 Crunches.  At the end each man traveled 1.5 miles at varying paces and moved about 340 to 350 1/4 mile.  It was a group consensus that the 30# dumbells and the 50# orange block really sucked when comes to running.

After leaving track carrying said items group was stopped 300 yds from parking lot.  Told they had done a good job and left it all on the field.  Then told move absolutely as fast as they could carrying their coupon back to trucks.

Mary not needed as we were 5 minutes over.
PRAYER – Prayer for those not present.
Wilbur reflected that when you thought you had done all you could do you still found it in yourself to do the same difficult thing one more time. When we think about the sacrifice God made by giving his only Son, Jesus made by being tortured and crucified what we did really wasn’t so bad.

In real life we are called upon to be nice to another obnoxious customer, tolerate a coworker you can’t stand, be there for someone going through something really tough, deal with a family issue that is really painful, stressful, embarrassing, expensive etc..  Being a man of character (aka HIM) we get a chance every day to do the impossible and smile about.  Embrace these challenges – you don’t have to make it look easy but you can make someone else’s life better by doing it.
