THE THANG

Split into teams of 4, 5, or 6 (bigger guys, fewer). Biggest guys mosey to complete Station 1 first. Smallest guys start with Station 3.

Station 1: The Log Carry (This acts as the timer for the drill. Groups change stations when this is complete.)

As a team, squat and lift the log to your shoulders. Carry it 1/4 of the way around the field, stopping to do 5 overhead presses, with the log coming to rest on the opposite shoulder. Rinse and repeat for the other 3/4 of the field lap with 5 overhead presses every 1/4 lap. When you complete the lap and the final 5 presses, set the log down. Together, count 3-2-1 and yell “switch!” Mosey a 1/2 lap to Station 2 (The Double Block Carry).

Station 2: The Double Block Carry

Grab two blocks (one in either hand), and walk to the other side of the field, stopping every 20 steps to lift the blocks to your arm pits 3 times, then return them to the side carry position before moving on. Rinse and repeat, walking back and forth until log group yells, “switch!” Drop your blocks where you stand and mosey to Station 3 (The 6×5 Cardio Crusher).

Station 3: The 6×5 Cardio Crusher

  1. Five WWII Sit-Ups
  2. Five Merkins
  3. Five Squats
  4. Five Boat Canoes
  5. Five Side Straddle Hops
  6. Five Burpees
  7. Rinse and repeat until log team yells, “switch!”
  8. Mosey 1/2 lap to complete Station 1 (The Log Carry).

Once each group has completed all three stations, mosey back to the amphitheater.

PRAYER
MOLESKIN

Here are a few passages that have been encouraging to me at times. They’ve given me permission to fail, reminded me that sanctification is a process, encouraged me to keep moving forward, reminded me what’ true, taught me to give grace to others, and helped me receive it for myself. I trust they will help you too.

“Now all has been heard. Here is the conclusion of the matter. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.” – Ecclesiastes 12:13

“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice.” – 1 Samuel 15:22

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.” – Philippians 3:12-16

“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” – 2 Peter 1:3-10

God’s Word is good! If you’re not equipping yourself with it regularly, today is a good day to start. (fist bump)
