The Search Party Tour for Candyland

Northeast Tennessee Johnson City Iron Horse (Founders Park)

Disclaimer

9 PAX rolled out of bed on a 66 degree morning, but we were supposed to have 10 PAX.  Candyland was missing and he was the scheduled QIC.  This led to a launch of a search party over downtown Johnson City led by YHC.  The route would include 10 stops as we searched over the next 60 minutes.

Warm-up

  • Motivators from 7
  • LBAC forward IC 10
  • LBAC reverse IC 10
  • Slow squats IC 10
  • Merkins IC 10

The Thang

The search party tour included stops at the following locations:  Amphitheater, flower bed on Buffalo Street, Main street, Munsey parking lot, top of Girls Inc. hill, Kings Common, statue near Founder’s Pavilion, field at Founder’s park, Tombstone hill and back to the starting point at the Founder’s park sign.

At each stop, the PAX completed 25 reps of each of the following exercises for a total of 100 reps then plank for the six.

  • Merkins
  • LBCs
  • Squats
  • Step ups

At the King’s Common stop, we bear crawled around the circle in lieu of the 100 reps.

We never found Candyland, but by the end of the hour we had covered 3 miles, completed a total of 900 reps (225 reps of each exercise) and bear crawled around King’s Common.  We had just a couple of minutes left for Mary.

The search party for Candyland can symbolize searching for God’s will in our life too.  We can search for answers to questions only to quit instead of persevering.   Scripture teaches that God will reveal Himself to those who intently and passionately search for Him.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jer. 29:13)

We are to persevere in searching and finding God’s will for our life.  The details will vary from person to person, but the end result is His will is to sanctify us (make us more like Christ).

For this is the will of God, your sanctification (1 Thess 4:3)
