5-Year Anni-Q

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

High 40s and a wet ground welcomed 9 Pax with a last minute Q switch to celebrate five years of gloomliness.  Five was the theme, although it kinda felt like a smoker. Read on to see why.

  • Downward dog and inchworms x 3
  • Imperial walkers IC x 10
  • Hillbilly walkers IC x 10
  • Seal claps IC x 10
  • Mountain Man Poopers IC x 10 (Thinking of PBS)
  • Sticky butt kickers IC x 5

THE THANG
With blocks in hand, many of the exercises were done as a group on YHC’s count. In most cases, five reps of one exercise immediately followed by five reps of another. Rinse and repeat for five sets (25 total reps).

  • At the flag: Slow curls (For today, “slow” means two count up, two count down) / Slow Overhead Press
  • At a dryish spot before Lake Arrowhead: Uneven Merkins on block / Supermans (5 x 5 second hold)
  • At wall: Step ups (each leg) / Block squats
  • At bleachers: Slow Dips / Slow Bent over Rows
  • At School: Wall sit while passing Gutterball’s block down and back / Squat Thrusters
    • Note that Gutterball’s block appears to be a Clydesdale of cinder blocks
  • At Mailbox: Merkins with pull-through / run up the lower half of the hill

Thank you for the motivation over the past five years. Knowing others will post on a day I should post has been influential. The hardest part of the morning is to stand up out of bed.  Just stand up and the rest will fall in place. Now onto the 60% of fitness that is the food we consume.
