On a crisp, cool fall morning, eight strong PAX gathered, not just to get physically stronger, but also to brush up on our betting skills—because who doesn’t want to bring home some extra dough for the family? 🍂💪
DISCLAIMER
Today’s workout is brought to you by the art of the gamble! Just like betting on your favorite team, every exercise today is a risk that could pay off big or leave you bear crawling in defeat. Remember, this is all fun and games—so keep it safe, don’t go all-in on the first round, so remember to pace yourself! 😂🎰
PRAYER
Thanked God for the cool morning, the strength to be here, and the wisdom to lead our families both in health and in heart. 🙏
Warm-Up:
We started off with some pre-game warm-ups, getting the blood flowing and the muscles primed:
– **15 Imperial Walkers** – Marching towards the goal line.
– **10 Hillbilly Walkers** – Bringing that country flair.
– **10 Sticky Butt Kickers** – Shaking off the cobwebs.
– **5 Slow Mountain Man Poopers** – Slow and steady, like a calculated bet.
– **10 Willie Mays Hayes** – Warming up for the sprint to the finish.
– **Life Cycle Arm Circles Forward and Back** – Prepping for the throws and catches.
The Thang:
We dove into the heart of the workout with a series of exercises inspired by the highs and lows of game day betting:
For those of us who are strangers to gambling, here are some things you need to know.
**Over/Under Bet**:
An **Over/Under bet** is a type of wager in sports betting where you predict whether the total number of points, goals, runs, or another relevant statistic in a game will be over or under a specified number set by the sportsbook. For example, if the Over/Under for a football game is set at 48.5 points, you can bet on whether the combined score of both teams will be more than (over) or less than (under) 48.5 points.
**Parlay**:
A **Parlay** is a single bet that links together two or more individual bets. To win the parlay, all of the individual bets within it must win. If any of the bets lose, the entire parlay loses. Parlays offer higher payouts than placing each bet individually because of the increased risk.
**Accumulator**:
An **Accumulator** is similar to a standard parlay, but it generally refers to a bet that combines four or more individual bets into one. Just like a regular parlay, all of the bets in the accumulator must win for the accumulator to be successful. The key difference is that an accumulator usually involves a higher number of selections, leading to even larger potential payouts due to the increased difficulty of winning all the bets.
Bet the Coin Toss:
– We flipped a coin—if you called it right, you broad jumped across the parking lot. If you didn’t, it was a bear crawl of shame. We ended up with 5 tails in a row, proving once again, **“Tails never fails, baby!”** 🪙🐻
Over/Under +/-
– **11’s with Overhead Presses and Underdogs** – Up and down, just like your emotions on game day.
Parlay Circuit:
We took on a **Triple Threat Parlay**, combining three exercises where we had to complete a set of each before moving on:
– **10 Merkins** – Standard push-ups to build upper body strength.
– **15 Squats** – Bodyweight/Block squats to engage the legs.
– **20 LBCs** – Little Baby Crunches to hit the core.
– After completing the circuit, we ran to our bookie (the fire hydrant) to get paid, then Bernie Sanders back. We rinsed and repeated, feeling like we were stacking wins in a perfect parlay! 🎰🏃♂️
Accumulator (Parlay Style):
We built up our bets with a progressive set:
– **Round 1:** 10 Step Ups
– **Round 2:** 10 Step Ups + 15 Dips
– **Round 3:** 10 Step Ups + 15 Dips + 20 Mt Climbers
– **Round 4:** 10 Step Ups + 15 Dips + 20 Mt Climbers + 25 SSH (Side Straddle Hops)
– After each round we ran to the crosswalk then “parlayed” a new exercise onto the previous set, making sure to complete all the previous movements before adding the next. The intensity and excitement built with every round! 💥🏋️♂️
Moleskin:
Today’s message was simple: Think back to the men who impacted your life when you were a boy. Now, take the time to be that mentor, not only to your own kids but to others who might need an extra man speaking wisdom into their lives. It doesn’t take much—maybe just some ice cream or playing ball—but it makes all the difference. But dont do as Woz suggested, and drive by a playground asking kids if they want to hop in your car to go get ice cream, not the best idea! 🍦🏀
BOM (Ball of Man):
We closed out in a circle, reflecting on the importance of leading by example, both in our families and our communities. Today’s workout reminded us that life, much like a good game, is about making calculated risks and always aiming for the win! 🙌🏆
