On a crisp, cool morning, 8 PAX gathered under the bright stadium lights to celebrate the arrival of football season with a workout as intense as a fourth-quarter drive. The new football field was calling, and we answered with enthusiasm and a whole lot of sweat! π πͺ
DISCLAIMER
Today’s workout is brought to you by the spirit of football in Tennessee! π Whether you’re a Vols fan or just here for the exercise, remember, like a Hail Mary, this workout is full of surprises and challenges. Participate at your own risk, and no, we won’t be calling for any timeouts! ππ«
PRAYER
We thanked God for the cool weather, our health, and the camaraderie that gets us out of bed in the morning. We also prayed for a safe and strong football season ahead! πποΈ
Warm-Up:
We kicked things off with some classic warm-ups to get our engines running:
– **Imperial Walkers** – Marching in sync, like a team running out onto the field! πββοΈ
– **Moseyed with Little Baby Arm Circles** – Forward to the corner of the school, loosening up those shoulders for the throws ahead! π―
– **10 Willie Mays Hayes** – Channeling our inner outfielders, stretching and reaching! βΎ
– **Moseyed with Little Baby Arm Circles (Reverse)** – Heading to the softball dugout, prepping for what’s to come! β¬
οΈ
– **10 Sticky Butt Kickers** – Kicking it into high gear, getting those legs ready! π
The Thang:
**Plank Mountain Climbers to Rocky Top** π΅ποΈ
We hit the football field, where yours truly turned on the greatest football anthem of all timeβ**Rocky Top**! πΆ Every time they sang “Rocky Top,” we rolled over onto our backs, then back into plank position to keep those mountain climbers going strong. It was a core-burning start, just like Tennessee’s opening drive! π₯
**Burpee Run (End Zone to 50-Yard Line)** πββοΈπ¨
Next, we lined up in the end zone and started the **Burpee Run**. We sprinted to the 10-yard line, did 1 burpee, and then sprinted back to the end zone. Each time we added another 10 yards and another burpee until we reached the 50-yard line. For those feeling extra strong, burpees were done at both the yard line and the end zone! π
**Partner Resistance Run (Pushing to the 10-Yard Line)** ποΈββοΈ
Paired up, one partner held the football and tried to sprint forward while the other applied resistance, pushing against them. We switched roles at the 10-yard line and repeated this three times, simulating a real gridiron battle! π₯
**Step Slides with Passes (Sideline to Hash Marks and Back)** π€ΌββοΈ
On the sideline, we faced off against our partners, 5 yards apart. Squatting low, we did **Step Slides** across the field to the hash marks, tossing the football back and forth. The challenge of catching in the dark made it feel like a game under Friday night lights! ππ
**Push-Ups and Squats with the Football** πͺπ
We continued our partner work with a unique drill: One PAX held the football and did push-ups, switching the ball from hand to hand after each squat by the other PAX. We moved down the field 10 yards at a time, swapping roles and continuing until we hit the end zone. π
**Field Goal Kicks and Box Cutters** π―
We wrapped up with a field goal challenge: Each PAX took turns kicking field goals from the goal line. For every successful kick, 5 box cutters were done. If you missed, the penalty was 10 box cutters, with the count increasing until you made the kick. We marched back down the field, kicking all the way to the start. π¦΅
**Game-Winning Fly Pattern** π
To finish off, we ran a fly pattern across the field. One PAX played quarterback while the other played receiver. The final pass was a perfect spiral to Bobber, who caught it in the end zone for the game-winning touchdownβGeorgia Tech, we foubd your new wide out! ππ
Moleskin:
No deep reflection today, just pure excitement for the return of football! ππ This is the best time of the yearβlet’s enjoy every moment, both on the field and off!
Announcements:
– **F3 Dads**: not this Saturday but next Saturday at arrowhead. Sign up to bring something for breakfast. Bring the kids and let’s show them what it means to be a part of F3! π¨βπ§βπ¦πββοΈ
BOM (Ball of Man):
