Being an Old School Fool

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

It was a chilly, damp morning in the mid 40s as 7 Pax ventured to the usual spot, and cutting it close to the usual time. The dock was blocked early by the milk truck and Zippo found a new temporary parking spot.

THE THANG
Back in the day, the Pax were fools and would venture out to many different places to break a sweat. Today, on this first day of April, we leveraged our inner fool and blew the dust off an oldie but “goodie”. Time for some hill work on Roan St. Pax ran up and down the wider Roan St. sidewalk, from Car Mol to White Way (near Hobby Town), stopping at each light post on the ascent to do an ascending number of reps.

  • Ascending the north hill: Merkins, then continue running to White Way
  • Ascending the south hill: Squats, then continuing running to Car Mol Dr.
  • At Car Mol and White Way intersections, Freddie Mercuries x10 (2ct)
  • At the top of the hill, V-Ups x10 at the AT&T building

Merkin reps started at 1 and increased by 1 at each light post (there were 7 on each side)

Squat reps started at 2 and increased by 2 at each light post (there were 7 on each side)

Merkin reps continued at 3 and increased by 3 at each light post

We would have done a round starting at 4 squats, but we ran out of time. Maybe Ghostrider got there.
