National Sock Day or National Cookie Day?

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

The freezing fog advisory didn’t keep 11 PAX from stepping into the 24 degree gloom to see what challenge would be revealed under the bright moonlight. Most said you could always put more on in the freezing temps, but there was another debating that 100 degrees was better with impassioned fervor. Weather conditions have been a “hot” button issue for some in recent days, while others just shrug and wonder what about the 5 principles are so confusing or how there was false advertising that drew them out of their cozy warm bed to avoid the suck. That’s not how F3 rolls. We do hard things, and encourage and lead those around us to escape from their complacency and at times sluggish mindset.

THE THANG

  • Group run fail on my part that needed better instruction- Idea was for PAX in front to run around the island while the 6 is walking with ruck until the runner arrives, then the ruck is handed off to the runner, who is now walking/rucking and the next PAX in the front runs around island, etc. This made sense in my head, but couldn’t articulate it in the gloom.
  • 11’s on the hill. PAX Choice-
    1. Merkins at bottom of the hill, Bernie with coupon up hill, and Squat Jumps up top (Most popular choice, if not unanimous, also known as the deconstructed burpee)Master This Move: Burpee - 24Life
    2. Split Squats with coupon, Bernie with coupon up hill, and Mike Tysons up top

MARY

  • Big Boy Sit Ups x25
  • Lying Leg Raise Hold / Neighbor Leg Throwdowns- PAX lay on back in a circle with legs extended straight in front, while one PAX runs around the circle pushes the other PAX legs down towards the ground, often varying the direction (straight down, to the left, or to the right) and returns to their spot, then the next PAX runs around doing the same until all PAX have gone. The goal for those on the ground is to engage their core muscles to resist the force and stop their feet from touching the ground, then lift their legs back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
    CIRCLE OF TRUST
    PRAYER
  • Praise for the F3 community and the ability to push ourselves physically and mentally. Prayers that we are able to be discerning in our daily grind, that we are able to be forgiving and joyful in all circumstances we face, that we are able to be a light for others, and that we navigate stressed or broken relationships in a way that reveals God’s glory and grace in our lives.
