Northeast Tennessee

The one with 4 million merkins

Northeast Tennessee Johnson City Arrowhead (Indian Trail)
Despite a slight drizzle that soon turned into a full-on drenching session, 11 stalwart PAX, led by the indomitable Ragdoll, gathered to redefine what it means to get soaked—not just by the rain, but by an endless sea of merkins. 🌧️💦

Prepare to be soaked, not just from the skies but from the sweat of your brow as we dive into a sea of merkins that might just feel like 4 million by the end. Dive in at your own risk, and remember, it’s supposed to be hard—if it were easy, everyone would do it! 😂💪

PRAYER
We gave thanks for the rain, for each other’s company, and for the strength to face the flood of challenges ahead. 🙏

Warm-Up:
Our warm-up was a perfect storm of classic moves to get our hearts pumping and muscles primed:
– **20 Side Straddle Hops** – Hopping into action!
– **7 Willie Mays Hayes** – Stretching it out like the legend himself.
– **9 Mountain Man Poopers** – Bringing some rustic flair to our rainy morning.
– **15 Hillbilly Walkers** – Kicking up our heels with a bit of country rhythm.
– **10 Little Baby Arm Circles Forward and Backward** – Loosening those shoulders for the merkin marathon.
– **10 Abe Vigodas** – Slow and steady, getting those joints ready for action.

The Thang:
The real downpour began with our ‘Thang’, a relentless barrage of merkins:
– Starting on the numbered parking spaces, each PAX hit the ground for a number of merkins corresponding to their spot—ranging from 12 down to 1, or 1 up to 12, turning each parking spot into a pit stop of pain.
– Post-merkin madness, we moseyed back to the flag to grab our coupons for a round of 20 curls, feeling the burn as the rain continued its relentless descent.
– Coupons overhead, we trudged to the last light pole for 20 weighted squats, setting our blocks down only to dash to the benches for 10 step-ups on each leg.
– The return journey was no less grueling: picking up the blocks for another overhead carry back to the flag, prepping for another rinse and repeat of the entire cycle.

No Mary today as the merkins more than filled our quota of core-crushing work.

Announcements:
Calling all F3 dads! This Saturday at 7:00 AM, Duck Island at Warriors Path State Park is the place to be. Bring your 2.0s for a morning of fun and fitness that’s sure to be as memorable as today’s merkin marathon! 🦆🌳

BOM (Ball of Man):
Soaked to the bone but spirits undampened, we gathered in a close circle, hands and hearts together, grateful for the rain that tested our resolve and the camaraderie that saw us through. As we parted ways, each step squelched a reminder of the morning’s trials and triumphs. 🙌

Today wasn’t just a workout; it was a monsoon of merkins, a deluge of determination. And through it all, we emerged not just soaked but stoked—ready to take on whatever storms may come, with the strength of 4 million merkins propelling us forward. 💪🌀
