Icy Beatdown

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

Two brave souls battled the slick road conditions and made there way to the AO for some fun in the snow/ice. It was 28 degrees, the snow had stopped falling and this AOQ was honestly thinking what “morons” would be driving on this to head to a workout.
DISCLAIMER
COP

The COP was short as the AOQ showed up with 1 minute and 25 seconds till 5:30, and we had to walk to the portico for shelter from the elements.

  • SSH IC X 15
  • LBAC Forward/Backward IC x 10
  • Seal claps IC X10
  • TTT X 10 IC
  • Etch-a-stretch

THE THANG
Straight and to the point. Do a descending ladder style workout with multiple exercises. The original plan was to run after each set of exercises and continue the ladder, but since the roads were as slick as an ice rink the AOQ changed it to 25 reps of SSH’s instead.

  • 15 merkins, 15 bent over rows, 15 weighted squats, 15 overhead press, 25 SSHs
  • 14 merkins, 14 bent over rows, 14 weighted squats, 14 overhead press, 25 SSHs
  • and so on and so forth till you hit 0

MARY
We had 6 minutes of MARY so abs was the main focus

  • 20 flutter-kicks IC
  • 20 Freddie Mercury’s IC
  • 15 spoon crunches right
  • 15 spoon crunches left
  • 10 heels to heaven
  • 1 minute plank

CIRCLE OF TRUST
PRAYER
MOLESKIN
There is something powerful about choosing effort when comfort is begging you to stay home and remain in bed. When the roads are icy, the air bites, and the snow slows every step, sometimes just showing up becomes a victory. Exercising outdoors in those conditions isn’t just training your body-it’s often times training your mindset. You learn that obstacles don’t get the final say, that discipline can outwork excuses, and strength is built long before the first rep. Every fiber in your being is telling you to stay at home in your warm bed, instead of getting out in the cold, but….when you’re done, standing there cold, tired, and sometime proud, you know this: if you can get up and conquer snow/ice/wind/rain to make yourself better, then you can handle whatever road comes next.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Arrowhead convergence is being discussed and looks like we may try and do the 14th of February.
