After 6 trips around the track, YHC asked the PAX if they knew what Joshua and the Israelites did on day 7 of their encounter with Jericho. To the shock and dismay of all present, they were reminded that Israel marched around Jericho 7 times, so we finished with 7 laps around the track for a total of 13 (or 3.25 miles).

MOLESKIN
As men, we like to be able to display competence and strength to those around us, but sometimes God calls us to do things that we cannot do on our own no matter how hard we may try. The story of Joshua presents Israel as an untrained army of nomads going up against a fortress of a city. However, God had called them to this task, and so he wasn’t going to make them do it alone. He fought with them and gave them victory, displaying his power in the process and showing them (and us) that man’s strength is nothing compared to the might of God. We should learn from this that our battles should not be fought by relying on ourselves, but on God, who decides the outcome of every struggle. As many of us contemplate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday, be reminded of the fact that your biggest battle was already fought and won by God himself, who lived a perfect life, made atonement for your sin, and invites you to celebrate the victory.
