THE THANG
Grab the coupons and mosey to the playground. Q was setup in a 4 rung ladder with 4 cones extending from the pull-up bars across the length of the parking lot and ending on the middle section of the hill between the school and the field. PAX began with 1 rep of each move at each cone then jogged back to the pull-up bars for a round with 2 reps. Goal was to shoot for 10 reps. Moves were as follows:

  • Burpeee Pull-up – Do a burpees then do a pull-up
  • Mountain Climber Merkin – Mountain climber (R+L=1) then a merkin
  • Squat Press – with the coupon, squat and then shoulder press
  • Burpee Tuck Jump – do a burpee straight into a tuck jump

9.5 made it through 8 rounds. Others were close behind. Strong work and lots of burpees from everyone.

MOLESKIN

Children have a unique way of humbling us. I’m a very routine person. Eat at the same times, sleep the same hours, workout on the same days, and so on. Introduce a newborn to the mix and you find out really quickly that you aren’t in as much control as you think. The amazing thing is God works in those moments to mold us and speak to us. Friends and family provide meals, sleep is broken but you experience precious moments in the middle of the night, and many other times when God is clearly working.

Studying James 4 has been very applicable the past 2 weeks. We often find ourselves not content because our “passions war inside of us”. We seek things that may not necessarily be bad but we seek them out of “selfish ambition”. God calls us to a life where our desires are driven by our faith. This means always putting others needs above ours.

Thanks to all the PAX for the kind words, meals, and prayers the past few weeks with 2.6. You men are my brothers and I’m blessed to have you in my life.
