Storming the Beaches: A Tribute to D-Day’s 75th Anniversary

18 PAX gathered together under a pleasant 66 degree morning.  The significance of today is the 75thanniversary of D-Day – arguably one of the most significant events in our history.

WARM-UP –

SSH x 20 IC

LBAC forward x 15 IC

LBAC reverse x 15 IC

TTT slow count x 10 IC

Merkins x 10 IC

WMH 10 count right and left

THE THANG

The PAX carried coupons to Tombstone Hill.

 Taking Tombstone Hill

Sprint to the top of the hill and complete 25 merkins

Sprint to the bottom and complete 25 Flutter kicks w/ coupon (R+L = 1)

Rinse and repeat x 3 for a total of 75 reps each

 

Mosey to the English Channel (aka Great Field) to storm the beaches.  PAX paired up and would complete 75 reps cumulative DORA-style of each exercise before advancing to the next beach.  Each beach was located at a light post along the English Channel.

 Omaha Beach

  1. Overhead press (w/ coupon)
  2. Lunge (R+L = 1)
  3. Freddy Mercuries
  4. Buddy carry to Gold Beach

Gold Beach

  1. Dips
  2. Squats w/ coupon
  3. American Hammer (R+L = 1)
  4. Army crawl to Juno Beach

 Juno Beach

  1. Kettle bell swings
  2. WWII sit ups
  3. Sumo squats
  4. Army crawl to Sword Beach

Sword Beach

  1. Merkins
  2. Heels to Heaven
  3. SSH
  4. Sprint over to Utah Beach

 

Moleskin

YHC reminded the PAX of the freedom we enjoy today is because of the bravery of the 150,000 Allied soldiers who took part of D-Day invasion to defeat evil.  We need to be reminded not to take our freedom for granted.

Announcements

Convergence is scheduled this Saturday at 6:30am.  PAX are encouraged to clown car due to the limited parking available with Blue Plum Festival going on this weekend.
