The temperature was in the low 70s but the air was thick. It was sticky. The kind of icky that makes a butt kicker seem like it was slathered in Crisco and sprayed with a can of PAM. Not that extra virgin olive oil kind, but the slick Original where you gotta line up the sprayer on the red line for maximum effect.  The air was so thick you could feel your pores working overtime to push the sweat off your body. Like they just came off 3rd shift at the factory and went straight to Mason mode layin down coupons on a foundation. The air was so thick it turned your saliva into mucus. 4 Pax became thirstier and posted for what would become a smoker of a game of chance. Allow me to reintroduce myself…my name is dodecahedron.

THE THANG
Take that flag and mosey to the playground. Set up near the crosswalk by the monkey bars.

YHC brought two foam dice, one red, one blue, and a dodecahedron with a variety of exercises (ie, 20 burpees, 15 tuck jumps, 30 American hammers, 10 pullups, 30 Freddie Mercuries, 15 Squat jumps, 1 minute wall sit, 20 merkins, 15 Bonnie Blairs, 30 mountain climbers, 20 dips, 30 second side plank each) [F3 translated]

  • Roll the red die = run to the 4th light post and back the number of times on the roll.
  • Roll the blue die = roll the dodecahedron that number of times. Everybody did the exercises on the dodecahedron.
  • Roll doubles (same number blue and red), dealers choice.

The exercises were started as a group but done on your own. We took turns rolling and had enough time for each Pax to take two turns.

I want to normalize the idea that Qs can include stretching and mobility exercises in addition to the grind. While this wasn’t one of those Qs, but it’s okay to take care of our bodies as we age.
