On a morning that felt more like a scene from the “Rag Doll” music video, with the cold biting at our heels and the darkness enveloping us like an Aerosmith concert, the PAX gathered under the starlit sky. The temperature was a crisp 26°F, but the chill couldn’t dampen the fiery spirits of our crew, ready to channel their inner Dalton Knecht and carry the day with the same fervor he carried the University of Tennessee to victory against Auburn with a staggering 39 points.
Warm-Up:
- Imperial Walkers x10 – Strutting our stuff like we’re on stage with Steven Tyler 🎤
- Hillbilly Walkers x10 – Getting down with our country roots 🌾
- Motivator from 5 – Pumping up the jam and the morale 🎶
- Mountain Man Poopers – Because even rockstars need to squat 💥
- LBAC x5 and reverse – Circling those arms like guitar picks on strings 🎸
The PAX, divided into trios of rockstars and ballers, embarked on a challenge that was part basketball, part strategic card game, and all adrenaline. Each team, armed with a basketball, aimed to score in the Funnel Ball, with points echoing the echoes of a trellis – intricate, strategic, and sometimes a bit tangled.
The Thang:
Cones set at various distances marked our court, with 1, 2, and 3 points up for grabs, the farthest being the shot that would make Dalton Knecht nod in approval. The competition ro 10 points was fierce, with each team hustling to hit the required points. But like any Aerosmith concert, there was a clear crescendo, a moment where the winners emerged, basking in the glory of their victory….the computer programers 🖥🤯🤓
Our interlude, a run to the fire hydrant for a round of 20 Freddie Mercury IC, was our tribute to the stamina of an athlete at the peak of his game. The rest of the games, a sprint to 5 points, were interspersed with 15 Freddie Mercury IC at the street sign, keeping our cores as engaged as our spirits.
Welcome to the PAX, FNGs Christian Chumbly (Trellace) and Mark Bowman (Rag Doll), your namesakes weaving into the fabric of today’s workout like the intricate patterns of a trellis and the unforgettable visuals of an iconic music video.
Reflections:
No words of wisdom were shared, but the echoes of our efforts spoke volumes. No announcements were made, but the day’s achievements were announcement enough.
As we dispersed into the breaking dawn, the memory of today’s workout lingered, a testament to teamwork, tenacity, and the timeless appeal of rock and roll and basketball legends. 🌟
