Northeast Tennessee

🎭 Episode 91 – The one where Jake honors OG Jester by recreating his VQ 🎭

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City

Under the guise of a typical East Tennessee morning (clear, 51 degrees, with a hint of humidity to remind us we’re alive), a band of PAX gathered to time travel back to the day of OG Jester’s VQ (https://f3netn.com/2016/07/14/blackjack-and-merlot/). Jake, in a stroke of genius or perhaps a moment of madness, decided the best way to honor such a legendary workout was to replicate it. Because, as we all know, history repeats itself, especially the sweaty parts.

Warm-Up:

  • Side Straddle Hop (IC) x20 🦘
  • Through The Tunnel (IC) x15 πŸš‡
  • Little Baby Arm Circles Forward and Backward (IC) x10 each πŸŒ€
  • Imperial Walkers (IC) x15 πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ

Warmed up and ready, we embarked on a 300-yard pilgrimage around the school, a journey that led us to an unexpected encounter. No, not a PokΓ©mon Go event like in the days of yore, but a mysterious figure scurrying away as we rounded the corner by the pain cave. A ghost of workouts past, perhaps?

The Thang:

Our quest led us to the hill for a game of Blackjack, featuring Decline Merkins and 2 count Freddie Mercury, a combo that had us questioning our life choices. And in a salute to history, we dropped for 5 Burpees at 6:00 AM, a nod to the burpee train from Jester’s VQ. It seems some traditions never die.

Rather than ending with Al Gore, we opted for a more dynamic finish with a squat time bomb, because why go out quietly when you can go out with a bang?

Weather:

Clear and 51 degrees. A perfect backdrop for a morning of homage and huffing.

PAX Roll Call:

Zippo, Jester, Fireball, Gutterball, GhostRider, Valance, Bobber, Jobs, Jake, Etch-a-Sketch. A crew ready to honor the past while making new memories.

Words of Wisdom:

In a moment of reflection, we revisited the same devotion from Hebrews 10: 24-25 Jester shared during his VQ, reminding us of the importance of men encouraging and spurring on other men. That is one of the great things about F3.

Here’s to Jester, for laying down a legacy of laughter, sweat, and encouragement.

Announcements: Keep an eye out for future blasts from the past, and remember, the best way to honor tradition is to keep pushing forward, together.
