Northeast Tennessee

What’s the difference between thunder and a fleet of trash trucks?

Northeast Tennessee Johnson City Iron Horse (Founders Park)

YHC and 18 other IH pax spent some brain power thinking about that in the gloom this morning.  Qing in the rain at IH presents a dilemma…head for the shelter of the Farmer’s Market and endure the wrath of Donatello or stay in the amphitheater and soak it up…literally.  #nobrainerunlessitslightning

Weather: 67 degrees; rainy

0528 burpee train that took us to 0531

THE THANG
Pax completed 12 different exercises.  Intervals of 1 minute exercise followed by 15 second transition/recovery.  Rinse and repeat x 2 rounds

  1. Curls for the girls
  2. BBSUs
  3. Block presses
  4. American hammers
  5. Burpees
  6. Heels to heaven
  7. Mountain climbers
  8. Prisoner squats
  9. Block row
  10. Plank jacks
  11. HR Merkins
  12. LBCs

YHC brought paper score cards for pax to record how many of each exercise they completed.  However, the rain kept that from happening.  Pax requested laminated score cards for next time.   YHC found myself repeating this set of phrases throughout…”(timer goes off to transition) That sucked…(timer starts next exercise) This is gonna suck.”  It was hard but good work.

MOLESKIN

Didn’t get to mention this to the Pax, but I got to don my new schmedium F3 Blackcat (Frankfort, IN) shirt today with a top-notch logo on the back.  Proud of my pal Wapner for carrying the torch in the town I used to call home.  Were it not for F3 NETN, there would be no F3 Blackcat.  Were it not for F3 Lexington, there would be no F3 NETN.  And the “were it nots” continue.  This is a good example of not knowing the impact (positive or negative) we have on others this side of heaven.  I continue to be changed for the better through F3 NETN.  And I’m grateful for it.

On a different note, as of today I’m the dad of a teenager.  That’s a humbling milestone.  Both he and I have much to learn.  I can say without a doubt that I am a better dad because of my F3 brothers.  I’m grateful for that too.
