THE THANG

Rudy introduced the IH PAX to the kilo 5k concept several months back.  I think we need to check Rudy’s math, but what the heck, we’ll just go with it for now.  Honeysuckle wanted to get some miles in today so what better way…

The PAX moseyed to the top of the hill (we need to name that thing) for the first station:

Merkins X 10

Squat Jumps X 10

Imperial Walkers X 10

Lunges X 10 (counted each leg (5/leg))

Monkey Humpers X 10

Then run approximately 0.25 miles to the opposite corner of the school and complete station 2:

Merkins X 10

Mountain Climbers X 10 (count right leg only)

Carolina Dry Docks X 10

Hillbilly Walker X 10

Burpees X 10

Rinse and Repeat until time is called.  The goal is 10 and it was announced that anyone who completed 10 laps before time was called got named “The Beast” and had their rear slapped by the remaining PAX.  Maybe that’s why no-one made it to 10…..

I will say the PAX worked hard today.  It was great to have some older guys and some newer guys out there encouraging one another along.  Looks like Escort found us a coffeeteria for Arrowhead – the Bluegill Grill.  Can’t wait to check it out myself.
MARY
No Mary today.

Just a reflection from my last Q.  I hope the PAX will hold me accountable.  I really need to work on the fruit of the Spirit in my life which means my life needs to be filled with the Spirit relying on His power.  That’s how that works.  I think I’ve made some progress but it’s easy to focus on self when things get rough, you get tired, or you don’t actively think about what you’re doing/how you’re acting.  This week we’ve all heard of Penn’s friend who was tragically killed orphaning a child born post-mortem but pre-funeral.  What a tragic event for this poor family.  We should all remember the things we hold dear can be stripped away at any moment.  A close friend of several PAX received good news yesterday.  After 11 1/2 months of horrendous surgeries, amputations, and multiple chemo courses, he has been given permission to leave Houston and come home to TN.  Just a reminder that most of us have nothing or very little we should try to complain about.
