Gloomy morning, but the rain and cold reinvigorated the obliterated ranks of the Arrowhead PAX with a 2 month high of 19 HIM who rolled out of bed and made the decision to get better.

THE THANG

Standard mosey to the playground parking lot.  Just in case the PAX ever find themselves on the wrong side of the law, encouragement in that fitness doesn’t stop when the cell door slams.  The prison cell drill was laid out in a partnered fashion paired with some cardio for safe measure (you’d have to wait for yard time to do this segment).

Partner 1:

Pick a 2-parking spot sized space.  Start in corner 1 with 15 Merkins, lunge to corner 2 and complete 15 squats, lunge to corner 3 and complete 15 Carolina Dry Docks, lunge to corner 4 and complete 15 V-Ups.  Rinse and repeat until relieved by partner.

Partner 2:

Complete 5 burpees, run a modified suicide using the light posts as markers, complete 5 burpees.  Relieve partner 1 and rinse and repeat until time is called.

YHC shared Romans 9:4-8: ‘They are Israelites, and to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen. But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham because they are his offspring, but “Through Isaac shall your offspring be named.” This means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as offspring. ‘ Romans 9:4-8 https://my.bible.com/bible/59/ROM.9.4-8.  Donatello had his doubts, but the point here is that the Israelites thought they were OK simply because of who they were.  We should be cautious that we don’t make the same mistake.  We shouldn’t think that we are OK because we’re Americans, because we’re Tennesseans, because of who are parents are, etc.  Every man has to make decisions of eternal significance.  It’s something that many neglect to give serious thought.  Unfortunately it’s only after something catastrophic or challenging in life occurs that many evaluate these type of life questions.  For those who profess the Christian faith, we must guard against the false belief that who we are, where we’re from, or how our lineage is defined secures us eternally.  This is an area that each man must evaluate for himself.  This idea of the patriarchs belonging to the Israelites caused a complacency that resulted in many men rejecting Christ.  They were Jews, they didn’t need Christ.  But it was Christ who was the fulfillment of their prophecies.  Because they were so focused on this world, they couldn’t see the Prince of Heaven for who He was.  This was and is a fatal mistake.  Issues that have eternal consequences shouldn’t be taken lightly, scoffed at, or neglected.  We will one day each give an account, and our defense will have nothing to do with how good we were, where we were born, or who our parents were.  The single question will be, do you know Jesus Christ and profess Him as Lord and Savior?  While F3 is not a Christian organization per se, there is a faith component.  My challenge with this commentary, coming from the Christian faith worldview, is an expression of my love and respect for each of you men, and a reminder that regardless of what you believe, these matters are too significant, to not think about at all.  I think Donatello got it too.
