THE THANG
Job 5:7 For man is born for trouble.
Matthew 6:34 Each day has enough trouble of its own.
John 16:33 In this world you will have trouble.
Life doesn’t quit. Trouble doesn’t stop. Our enemy doesn’t let up. Neither should we.
Since I’m an F3OG who only posts once a quarter, a good bit of today’s mumblechatter was asking the PAX about their favorite F3 memories, which in every case, were also our most challenging and/or traumatic ones. (Mine were when Singlet had us army crawl in four inches of rash-inducing water and a 17º Honcho snow/block Q when I forgot to wear pants.)
So… In addition to the encouraging Scriptures below, let me add this admonishment and reminder:
Our most challenging experiences have the POTENTIAL to become our most cherished and relationship-building memories IF we work together and build one another up.
So… In a season of challenging days where there are plenty of temptations to point fingers and treat people poorly, let’s live in a way that we can be proud of when we’re done.
As far as today’s work… It’s pretty straight forward. Ten reps of five exercises. Plank for the six. Then, run to the end of the field and back. Rinse and repeat. All to some tasty tunes. Let’s get ‘er done.

Matthew 6:25-34 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life. And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
John 16:33 I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
John 14:1 Let not your hearts be troubled.
1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxieties (worries, cares, concerns) on him, because he cares for you.
Philippians 4:6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:4-5 We glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame.
James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Galatians 6:7-10 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, reaps destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, reaps eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Ephesians 6:10-18 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, the authorities, and the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on ALL occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Be strong and courageous. Stand firm. Run the race. Fight the good fight of the faith. And after you have done everything… Keep standing. Even when you’re tempted to give in or give up… On your vision, or on your marriage, or on your calling, or on your faith, or on your family, or on yourself… Persevere. Don’t give up. Don’t be afraid. Hope does not disappoint. God is working it all out for good, for those who love Him, and are called according to His purpose. Keep standing. Keep loving. Keep giving. Keep the faith. Keep doing good.
