Midweek is a Go!!

Northeast Tennessee Kingsport Wilderness Road (Dobyns-Bennett)

6 PAX (1 FNG) rocked the first Kingsport weekday smackdown. QIC told Donatello that the goal was to “get everyone to the edge, but not push them over.” We got close when our young jedi FNG almost spilled melot on Burpee Hill.

THE THANG
Classic 1-2-3 Dora running up the stairs over top of ramp and down the other stairs

  • 100 Merkins
  • 200 Sit-ups
  • 300 Squats

PAX looked good and tired as we finished at the top of the hour. Started to mosey back to flag, but stopped briefly to hit the other ramp with a descending burpee ladder counting by 2’s from 10 (10-8-6-4-2-done). The ramp may be short, but if one hits it AYG, its a smoker. Indeed- Everyone was huffin and puffin…

MARY
“Bring Sally Up” with high/low planks. Used as a early bench marker-Rarely do new PAX finish this exercise if they are just starting their fitness journey, but it’s a good goal to work toward and show yourself how strong you’ve gotten.

Romans 5:You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

I shared with the PAX that this Sunday I am offering our communion meditation and that Im focusing on how we don’t have to have it all figured out to come to the table; God invites us into fellowship while we are still broken, messed up, and dirty. I think about this with the excuse we often hear in F3: “Im not in good enough shape to post with you guys.” We all know that this reasoning doesnt work… We dont wait until we are feeling good to see the doctor- we go when we are still sick and want a change! The communion table and F3 are both crucibles in their own way. The table (and the 3rd F) purify our hearts and connect us to God. Our faith communities (and the 2nd F) sharpen and hone our leadership skills. And the 1st F, well, it literally forms and shapes our physical bodies so that we can use them to glorify God.

Whether your growing edge is fitness, fellowship, or faith, don’t hide with the hope of presenting a completed package. We are all just trying to get better. It takes a lot of vulnerability and courage to do that in front of others.
