🎳 Gutterball’s VQ Redux – Striking Down Memory Lane 🎳

Northeast Tennessee Arrowhead (Indian Trail) Johnson City
Gutterball

In a morning that felt like a crisp April throwback, 12 PAX, including legends Jester, Jobs, and Donatello from the original 2018 VQ, gathered to relive the glory days. With the mercury hitting a cool 40 degrees, the air was as clear as Gutterball’s love for Pittsburgh sports. But let’s not spare the details; here’s how we rolled:

DISCLAIMER – Given with the precision of a pharmacist.
PRAYER – To kick things off on the right foot… or the left, if you’re into that.

COP:

  • Motivator IC from 7 – Because why start at a lower number when you can aim high?
  • Clock Merkins – Rotating around like the hands of time, or Gutterball’s bowling arm winding up for a strike. IC x 3 at every quarter-hour mark.
  • Hillbilly Walkers IC x 10 – A nod to the half marathons in every state dream. Just a casual stroll through the states.

THE THANG:

We moseyed to the school flag at the base of the hill, pairing up for a mix of burpees and hill sprints. It was like running the bases at PNC Park but with more elevation and less cheering fans.

  • Mosey to the school flag at the base of the hill.  Pair up, one PAX does burpees while the other moseys to the bend halfway up the hill, then sprints to the top of the hill.  Mosey back down the hill and switch off.  Rinse and repeat until time is called (ended up about 2-3 cycles).

Then, under the bright lights by the wall, we did deconstructed burpees and wall sits, while the other half of the pair ran an obstacle course of cones. It was a workout worthy of a halftime show at Heinz Field.

    • 10 deconstructed burpees (10 squats, 10 in-and-outs, 10 merkins, 10 in-and-outs)
    • Wall sit

The other PAX runs to the end of the parking lot to cones that are separated roughly by 10 paces.

    • 1st cone, moving merkins (right)
    • 2nd cone, lunges
    • 3rd cone, moving merkins (left)
    • 4th cone, frog jumps

MARY:

  • WMH x 10 count each side – Stretching it out like we’re reaching for the last slice of pizza.
  • Standing quad stretch for 10 count each leg – Because after those hills, our legs were as shaky as a rookie’s first game.
  • Merkins x10 – Just for good measure.
  • Baby sit-ups until time – Cranking them out like Thor hammers down the competition.

As we wrapped up, the short devotion reminded us of the importance of thanking God for bringing us to this point in our lives and remembering how he carried us through the good and bad times. And just like Gutterball’s impeccable VQ, today was a reminder that every day is a chance to score a perfect game, in fitness, fellowship, and faith.

Announcements: None today, just basking in the post-workout glow.

Shoutout to Gutterball for not only mastering the lanes but also leading a VQ that’s gone down in F3 history. Here’s to many more mornings of strikes, spares, and the occasional gutter ball. 🎳
