It was a toasty 16 degrees this morning—practically beach weather—when 5 heroic lunatics…I mean HIMs…ventured out to conquer the cold and pretend this was a good idea. The Q quickly became a scavenger hunt for pull-up bars and swings that had little permafrost. However, the AO delivered just enough thawed metal to keep us from fusing our hands to the equipment.

THE THANG
The Q was simple 11s to focus on full body, but with emphases on upper body. There was some modifications made on the fly to give our upper body a rest. (Someone not to name names was not happy about that much upper body focus)

  • Station 1
    • 11s Pull-ups / Merkins
  • Carry your block to the last light pole
  • Station 2
    • 11s Underdogs / Bent over rows
  • Station 3 (same location)
    • 11s Over Head Press / weighted squats (original Q
    • (MODIFIED) 10 weighted squats/ 10 lunges right-left one
  • Mosey over bottom of parking lot hill with block/bag
  • Station 4 (also our Mary)
    • Run to top of hill 20 Freddy Mercury’s /2 count
    • Run to bottom of hill 20 flutter kicks while holding block overhead / 4 count
    • Do as many rounds as possible, we did one and started the second round
