THE THANG

We started out doing a little ladder to get the legs nice and warm before the main event…. The ladder consisted of 10 BURPEES, 20 WALL JUMPS, 30 CALF RAISES, 40 STEP UPS (20 EACH LEG), and 50 AIR SQUATS. The wall jumps and step ups were done on the walls/seats of the ampitheater. After the ladder, we took a STAIR LAP. Some of the Pax started another round until all the Pax finished one round… time for the main event!

We then moseyed up to the parking lot near the Farmers Market. I have been wanting to Q a parking space workout for some time, and this was my opportunity. Here is what went down….

PARKING SPACE MOGEL JUMPS – For roughly 15 parking spots, we mogel- jumped the actually parking line, jumped up on the concrete “stopper” at the head of the parking spot, motel-jumped back out, and then lunged to the next parking spot. (mogel-jump=both feet land on the left of the line, then both feel land on the right of the line.)

20 WEIGHTED SQUATS – Halfway down the farmers market, we spotted to do 20 weighted squats with blocks.

PARKING SPACE BROAD JUMPS – We then did roughly 15 parking spots of broad jumps (roughly 30 – 40 if one was counting)

20 WEIGHTED LUNGES (10 EACH LEG)- After the broad jumps, we did lunges with weight (blocks or plate)

Rinse Repeat.

We got back to the amphitheater just in time for about 3 minutes of Mary

MOLESKIN:

After I just typed all of this, i realized that it felt like we were jumping for a lot more of the workout than it looks like on the BB. Maybe that’s just me!

I’ve just been doing a lot of thinking about the improvement of the group since we started…. like a lot of us have. I’m not saying this workout was easy, and it wasn’t the hardest workout I’ve been a part of, but I will say this, if someone would have Q’d this workout 6 months ago it would have been perceived as a lot harder workout than it was perceived today. Thats call progress men! Job. Well. Done.
